Tips for flying with babies and young children PART TWO

Last week we shared a list of top tips for travelling with young children and asked you to get in touch with your own tips to share. THANK YOU for your input!! Here is PART TWO with a few more fantastic tips for your summer holidays!

  1. Early boarding may not always be the best option

Why? Because that’s extra time that your child has to sit on the plane. This is one that you’d have to decide based on your own children and what you think they would cope with better. Babies and very young children don’t like to be looking at the same thing for too long, so boarding earlier may not always be the best way to go. Perhaps if you’re travelling with a partner, they could board early with the carry on luggage, and then you could wait until the last minute to board with your baby.

  1. Disposable Bibs

Travel with a pack of disposable bibs in your hand luggage and put your normal bibs in your hold luggage. This saves you having to carry around dirty, soggy bibs whilst travelling.

  1. Hand luggage

Make sure your hand luggage can comfortably fit under the chair in front of you so you don’t have to keep getting up and fetching things from a bag stored in the overhead cabins.

  1. Pack a blanket and a blow up pillow for the flight.

It can get chilly on board with the air conditioning, a blanket from home is warm, comforting and familiar for your little one.

If you missed last week's list, check it out for more great advice!

Happy Holidays!
